[Barcelona, 04 March 2025] – Smart Axiata, one of the leading telecommunications companies in Cambodia, and Huawei Cambodia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperating with each other to form a strategic partnership for B2B joint innovation solutions and market development, aiming to fast-track the digitalization of local industries in Cambodia.
The MOU was signed during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 by Mr. Sharif Mahfoedz, CBO of Smart Axiata, and Mr. Huang He, Huawei Account Director of Smart Axiata. The signing ceremony was presided over and witnessed by Mr. Ziad Shatara, CEO of Smart Axiata, Mr. Muhammad Adeel Israr, CTIO of Smart Axiata, Mr. Deng Shuigen, President of Huawei Asia Pacific Carrier Sales Business, and Mr. Tao Guangyao, CEO of Huawei Cambodia.
During the signing ceremony, Mr Sharif Mahfoedz remarked: “Smart Axiata is not only excelling as a connectivity provider, but by building on the success of our connectivity infrastructure, we are broadening our reach as an ICT enabler to businesses by providing relevant solutions for businesses of all sizes. Our partnership with Huawei is significant progress that will allow us to bring in cutting-edge solutions that unlock new potential and enhance growth for businesses in Cambodia.”
In addition, Mr. Tao Guangyao, CEO of Huawei Cambodia shared that “As a global leader in sustainable technology solutions and a trusted provider of ICT infrastructure, Huawei is proud to collaborate with Smart Axiata in advancing B2B industry solution innovation. Building on our proven track record globally, where we have empowered countless businesses through 5G cutting-edge digital solutions, we are committed to introducing these successful strategies and technologies to Cambodia. In partnership with Smart Axiata, we will leverage our global expertise with local insight to deliver high-end solutions that drive the Cambodian digital economy forward.”
This collaboration will combine Smart Axiata’s extensive local infrastructure and expertise as well as a wide range of customers with Huawei’s advanced ICT technologies (e.g. 5G, FWA, SD-WAN, etc.) and rich industry experience. By jointly developing B2B solutions, both parties will bring more innovative applications and services to various industries in Cambodia, such as, manufacturing, mining and finance on large enterprises, as well as bringing innovations to SMEs, for example chain stores by providing managed services and other solutions that will enhance business operations.
Orienting to the future evolution and digitalization for Cambodian industries, this MOU also covers the collaboration in Cloud and AI domains, introducing leading Cloud infrastructure and AI technologies to the Cambodian market.
This cooperation will not only promote the development of the digital industry in Cambodia but also contribute to the country’s economic growth and social progress. Both parties are committed to making continuous efforts to achieve mutual goals of the MOU and bring more benefits to the people and society of Cambodia.
